Description
Deutsch: Thomas Mann: Herr und Hund. Ein Idyll München [ohne Verlagsangabe]: 1919, 95 Seiten + 1 Blatt Impressum. Scherenschnitt-Illustrationen von Emil Preetorius (1 Tafel als Frontispiz und 8 Vignetten). - Einmalige Vorzugsausgabe von 120 Exemplaren für den Schutzverband Deutscher Schriftsteller, Ortsgruppe München. Der Ertrag für bedürftige Schriftsteller bestimmt. Erstdruck (Potempa E 27.1). Handgeschöpftes Zanders-Bütten, Titelblatt mit Wasserzeichen Knorr & Hirth, München. Rauer Schnitt. Mit der als "Vorsatz" überschriebenen zweiseitigen Einleitung, die in den späteren Drucken fehlt. "So geschieht es, daß zwei namhafte Meister [Thomas Mann und der Illustrator Emil Preetorius] sich zu dem alleinigen Zweck verbünden, einem wenig erleuchteten Stückchen Leben von flüchtigem Herzschlage [ ] ein kostbar dauerndes Denkmal zu errichten [ ]."
