Description
English: 1918 photo showing United States Army Ambulance Corps (USAAC) soldiers and vehicles in the 500 block of North Tenth Street. During World War I, Army vehicles and soldiers were a common sight in Allentown as the city hosted Camp Crane at the Allentown Fairgrounds. Camp Crane was used to train ambulance drivers for the United States Army Ambulance Corps. The commercial building at right was Schach Brothers, a drugstore at 501 North Tenth. The building next door at 503 was a milinery shop. At 505 was a private home.
