| Description |
English: B-Type bus No.B340 of 1911 at the London Transport Acton Depot Museum, 25 September 2021. The B-Type bus, designed by Frank Searle, was the first mass-produced motorbus in the world when introduced in 1910, 2,500 being built (until 1913) and operated by the London General Omnibus Co. (Walthamstow). 900 were requisitioned for service in WWI to take troops to the front as was this example in 1914-16 where it was called 'Ole Bill'. On return to London, it continued work until 1924. |
