Summary

[edit]
Description
English: On 19th December 1910 the first powered flight took place in Japan. Two aeroplanes flew from the Yoyogi Parade Ground in Tokyo, a Grade Monoplane (represented here) piloted by Army Captain Kumazo Hino and a Farman biplane flown by Captain Yoshitoshi Tokugawa. Hans Grade, who’s company designed and built this monoplane, had previously made the first powered flight in Germany during 1908. This replica was built by a group led by classic aircraft researcher Hiroyasu Hayakawa. She remains on display in Area A2 at Gifu-Kakamigahara Air and Space Museum, Kakamigahara, Gifu. 13th March 2020
