Description	English: South of Lawrence Street and Cedar Creek the Trayler Engineering and Manufacturing Company was built. In this 1910 photo, looking south, the Traylor Engineering plant is in the forground, and behind them are two Mack Truck plants; plants 4 and 4A. Jack and Gus Mack moved their motor car plant to Allentown from Brooklyn, NY in 1905; taking over the foundries of the former Weaver-Hirsh company on South 10th Street. By 1914, Mack Trucks had developed a reputation for being study and reliable. Many were sent to the battlefields of the Western Front in France before the United States entered World War I in 1917. The British gave the Mack AC five and seven ton trucks the nickname "Bulldog". Mack eventually had a total of eight manufacturing plants in Allentown, the last plant, 5C closing in 1987. Mack headquarters left Allentown about 2012, however maintains a manufacturing plant in Macungie today. Both Mack Plants in the above photo, as well as the Traylor Engineering buildings remain today. All are vacant and unused.
