Summary
[edit]Description19-N-86531 USS Kingman (APB-47).jpg |
English: USS Kingman (APB-47) underway, probably in early July 1945 shortly after commissioning and completing fitting out at New Orleans. Note the layout of this ship, with a single level deckhouse running most of the length of the ship, the pilot house forward, stack aft. She had kingposts and booms forward for use in loading supplies and passing them to the ships she supported. Also of note is the armament at the stern which is clearly visible, as is the arrangement of the two Welin davits amidships.
