Description
English: 18th century woodworker's gravestone in Caputh graveyard Scottish gravestones of the 18th and 19th centuries often feature emblems of the trade of the deceased. This fine stone of 1785 is to be found in the old graveyard at Caputh and show the axe, saw and square use a woodworker. The skull is a common symbol of mortality on Scottish stones of this period.
