English: A copper-alloy 18th century halfpenny coaching token, c.1785-1800 AD.

Obverse: MAIL COACH HALFPENNY PAYABLE IN LONDON, in exergue TO TRADE EXPEDITION & TO PROPERTY PROTECTION, A mail coach driving past at speed.

Reverse: TO J PALMER E[sq] THIS IS INSCRIBED AS A TOKEN OF GRATITUDE FOR BENEFITS RECd FROM THE ESTABLISHMENT OF MAIL COACHES, The legend over eight lines within a wreath, the initials JF below.
