Summary
[edit]Description18 June 1815 – Victory at Waterloo – Wellington's Residence at Brussels.jpg |
English: On April 5, 1815, the Duke of Wellington arrived in Brussels from Vienna. He settled down in a mansion provided by Mr Van den Cruyce, Rue Royale, n°54, overlooking the Parc de Bruxelles / Warandepark / Brussels Park. The house was large enough to be used as headquarter for the impending confrontation, as well as residence – for a few weeks.
Then, over Malplaquet, Cambrai, Péronne, &c., reached Paris which the French emperor had already fled. |
