Description
English: Painted bison skull of the Arapaho, ca. 1890. It was used as a Sundance altar. The colored dots stand for prayers, black represents the earth, red the Arapaho.
Deutsch: Bemalter Bisonschädel der Arapaho (heutiges Wyoming), 1890. Er diente als Altar beim Sonnentanz. Die farbigen Punkte stehen für Gebete, Schwarz repräsentiert die Erde, Rot die Arapaho.
