Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 1880 photo of the Fountain House Hotel, South Jefferson and Lawrence (Now Martin Luther King Drive) Street in Allentown. The hotel was built in 1867, and was popular for many years. In 1867, the hotel and land was obtained by the City of Allentown as its waterworks. The building was largely torn down to accommodate the waterworks construction, although some small buildings remained as utility sheds. In 1965, Lawrence Street was widened and the last parts of the hotel were removed.
