Description
Deutsch: Im Jahr 1845 auf Veranlassung durch den Königlich Hannoverschen Oberforstmeister a.D. ursprünglich auf hohem Sockel am Forellenteich gesetzter Toppius-Stein zum Gedenken an den während der Personalunion zwischen Hannover und Großbritannien als Kurfürstlich Braunschweig-Lüneburgischen und am Jägerhof zu Hannover tätigen Hofjäger Albrecht Toppius, der am Forellenteich nach einem Handgemenge mit einem Wilderer 1807 im Alter von nur 27 Jahren zu Tode kam.
Der Gedenkstein wurde 1901 ohne sein als zu groß empfundener mehrstufiger Sockel an seine heutige Stelle versetzt, auf die seitdem Toppius-Platz genannte Anlage wenige Stufen oberhalb des Georgsplatzes am Forsthaus Georgsplatz in der Wennigser Mark ...
