Date |
1818 (undated) Since Istria is described as bipartite, Austrian and Venit Istria, the borders on this map are not from 1818 but correlating with the pre napoleon frontiers of 1794. Venit Istria was in this time part of the Serene Republic of Venice and only became part of the austrian monarchy by the Peace Treaty of Campoformio 17th of Octobre 1797 signed by Napoleon Bonaparte and Francis 2nd. The year of 1818 mentioned is the year of publication!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
