Das Gemälde aus dem Besitz der Universitätskunstsammlung Göttingen zeigt vermutlich die Ehefrau des Malers, Cäcilie, geborene Bregazzi, eine Schwester des Fotografen Christian Bregazzi. In dem von Christian Scholl und Anne-Katrin Sors herausgegebenen Buch Akademische Strenge und künstlerische Freiheit. Die Gemälde des 19.
