17th century cup weight
Description
English: A quite corroded post medieval copper-alloy quarter of an ounce (6.5 gram) trade weight from the reign of Charles I (1625-1649) or Charles II (1660-1685). The weight is shallow cup-shaped and has three symbols stamped into the face, a crowned C at 11 o'clock (C for Charles) a sword at 1 o'clock for St Paul's and the City of London and a weakly struck ewer at 5 o'clock for the London Founder's Company. The reverse is plain and flat.
