17th century cloth seal
Description
English: A post-medieval lead cloth seal. Two disc seal of probable 17th century AD date. The object consists of two damaged and corroded circular discs joined by a lead connecting strip. Each of the discs measures 20mm in diameter. One of them has a raised design consisting of an arrangement of the letters "P F F" - the central "F" extending into a decorative pattern of crossed lines. There are also two stars, one above the "P" and the other above the outermost "F". This design sits within a double circle. The other disc is blank. The object measures 23.3mm high by 3.9mm thick and weighs 8.51g.
