Description
English: Cast copper alloy circular button. Hollow-domed with integral cast loop. Engraved with five radiating petals with with a pair of curving lines between each creating a concentric pattern in the background. The whole is within a border of short incised 'comma' marks.
Read (1995) records several examples of this type of button including one with a petal design (No.975). He dates these to the 17th century.
