17th C silver button
Description
English: Silver button, circular and made from silver sheet, samped design above a flaming heart pierced by flaming arrows. On the back there is a shank and loop attachment. Late 17th century. Can be compared with other buttons \& cdufflinks recorded throuigh the Treasure Act which share the same design, dimensions and decoration: compare TAR 2005-6 nos 615-6 for a pair of cufflinks with this device [slightly smaller]and a button like this one, with the same dimensions. As such, due to its age and precious metal content, this object qualifies as Treasure under the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
