Description
English: A very worn and corroded copper alloy halfpenny token dated 1796 issued at Portsea in Hampshire. The obverse has St George on horseback slaying the dragon with a lance and an inscription of PROMISSORY HALFPENNY 1796. The reverse has a sailing ship with a large fish below.
