Built in 1890, the Romanesque Revival-style homes are designated as contributing properties to the Dupont Circle Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Former occupants of 1723 P Street, N.W., include Confederate Colonel Joseph Powhatan Minetree and Assistant Architect of the Capitol George H. Williams.
