Description
English: Engraving by François van Bleyswik for Th. More's Utopia translated in french by N. Gueudeville in 1715 (ETH-Bibliothek Zürich). This engraving (page 99) represents the entrance of the narrows of Utopia island. Supposedly, these ships represent commerce and trade between Utopia and other countries. We can also see the defences of the island and the tower that protects the entrance of Utopia inland sea.
