Description
English: Looking west at the entrance to 1701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., in the United States. This 12-story, Modernist building was the first major commission for architect Vlastimil Koubek in the city. The ground floor is set back several feet, forming an arcade. The concrete structural columns are clad in polished brown marble, which accents the pink concrete walls and dark bronze aluminum panels above. Stores, coffee shops, and restaurants occupy the ground floor. The main entrance has a skillion roof over the entrance to protect visitors when it rains.
