Looking upstream at 3 of the 6 45-foot high Tainter Gates on the new auxiliary spillway control structure, which will allow dam operators to release water from the Folsom Reservoir sooner, reducing flood risk for the Sacramento metropolitan area. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District continues with the final phase of construction on the Folsom Dam Auxiliary Spillway project January 11, 2017. The project is scheduled for completion in October 2017. |
