Looking upstream at the new auxiliary spillway control structure. These gates sit 50 feet lower than the gates on the main dam, allowing dam operators to release water from Folsom reservoir sooner than they can from the main dam. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District continues with the final phase of construction on the Folsom Dam Auxiliary Spillway project January 11, 2017. The project in Folsom, Calif. is scheduled for completion in October 2017. |
