16th century Knife stop
Description
English: Copper alloy knife stop. The stop is oval in cross-section and is dog-legged in plan. The stop is decorated with two moulded bands on one half of its length. The terminal end is decorated with recessed dots and perhaps another motif however it is too worn to determine. The other end has a rectangular slot in which there is part of the iron tang remaining.
