Description
Nederlands: Ottenmolen, Venlo op De Wit’s stedenatlas van c. 1698 gelegen naast de Helpoort aan de noordzijde van de vestingsstad. Vreemd genoeg wordt de Ottenmolen op deze kaart wel genoemd op de plek waar het stond, iets westelijk van de Helpport (op de kaart iets erboven). Op die plek is er echter geen watermolengebouw (meer) weergegeven, maar wel een vijver. Het is zelfs zo dat een deel van de noordelijker stadsgracht niet meer is doorgetekend hier, zoals wel eerder in de Kaart van Bleau uit 1649/1952. Dit kan erop wijzen, dat dat tijdelijk was drooggelegd.
