English: Dionigi Bussola, Copper statue of saint Charles Borromeo, in Piazza Borromeo in Milan, Italy. The statue originally stood in Piazzale Cordusio, but the House of Borromeo was forced in 1786 to move it here "within ten days" for "obstruction to circulation" after the Austrian governor's carriage had knocked it. Picture by Giovanni Dall'Orto, May 18 2007. |
