Title
1672 Lithic implements.jpg
Description
English: 1) Axe fragment length 33mm, width 36mm, thickness 18mm. Multiple flaking scars on the ventral and the dorsal sides, the proximal and distal ends have been truncated and the artefact has suffered from frost damage. This is a grey flint and dates to the Neolithic.

2) 8 microlithis, average size length 21mm, width 5mm, thickness 3mm. Six have one arise on the dorsal the others have two, no bulb of percussion on the ventral. four have a creamy patina, the rest are dark grey flints with a speckled creamy patina. These artefacts date to the Late Mesolithic.

3) 14 blades average size length 18mm, width 10mm, thickness 4mm. Eight have one arise the others have two arises on the dorsal, soft hammered bulb on the ventral. Five have a creamy patina, that others are grey flints with a speckled patina. These objects dates to the Late Mesolithic.

4) 3 blades average size length 49mm, width 20mm, thickness 6mm. Two have one arise and the last has two arises on the dorsal, soft hammered bulb on the ventral. Two have had the distal end truncated, this is an old break. Five have a creamy patina, that others are grey flints with a speckled patina. These objects dates to the Early Mesolithic.

5) 2 End scrapes, smallest length 11mm, width 20mm, thickness 4mm, largest length 25mm, width 18mm, thickness 4mm. Both have semi-abrupt, direct flaking scars on the tip that forms a curved forward edge. Both have a light grey patina, the larger example is covered in orange speckles, these artefacts date Mesolithic.

6) 5 Scrapers average size length 30mm, width 24mm, thickness 12mm. One is a side and end scraper, one semi-circular scraper, two side scraper and one end scraper. All have direct, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch. Three have 10% cortex on the dorsal, all have a creamy patina. These objects date to the Neolithic.

7) 2 Scrapers average size length 32mm, width 30mm, thickness 6mm. Both are end scrapers with direct, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch on the forward edge that creates a convex working edge. One has a creamy patina and the other has a pinkish colour. These objects date to the Late Neolithic to Bronze Age.

8) 3 Scrapers average size length 23mm, width 20mm, thickness 9mm. One side scraper and two end scrapers all with direct, semi-abrupt, scaled retouch. All have multiple flaking scars on the dorsal, one also has 30% cortex on this edge, all have a creamy patina. These objects date to the Bronze Age.

9) 3 Notched pieces average size length 24mm, width 20mm, thickness 3mm. Multiple flaking scars on the dorsal, soft hammered bulb on the ventral, one has 30% cortex on the top edge. All have direct, low angled retouch that creates a small concave notch. One has a creamy patina with a brown patch, the other two are grey flints with a patina forming. These artefacts date to the Late Neolithic-Bronze Age.

10) Multi tool length 38mm, width 30mm, thickness 7mm. Multiple flaking scars on the dorsal, small bulb on the ventral. The left side has been formed into a scraper with semi-abrupt, direct flaking scars that form a convex working edge. The tip has low-angled retouch on either side that forms a borer. This artefact dates to the Late Neolithic to Bronze Age.

11) 5 Miscellaneous retouch average size length 35mm, width 19mm, thickness 7mm. All have multiple flaking scars on the dorsal, one has 20% cortex on this edge, bulb of percussion on the ventral. All have short, low angled flaking scars along one edge. Two have a creamy patina, the rest has a creamy-brown patina. All probably date to the Neolithic-Bronze Age.

12) 5 Flakes average size length 27mm, width 22mm, thickness 5mm. Multiple flaking scars on the dorsal, small bulb of percussion on the ventral. Creamy patina. All date to the Neolithic-Bronze Age.

13) 8 Core rejuvenation flake average size length 32mm, width 24mm, thickness 9mm. Multiple flaking scars cover the dorsal, on most of the examples these are long thin and run in two directions, three have prepared striking platform at the top. Severn have a creamy patina with grey patches, the last has a creamy-brown patina. These artefacts dates to the Late Mesolithic-Neolithic.

14) 2 Cores average size length 32mm, width 17mm, thickness 15mm. Multiple flaking scars cover the dorsal, on most of the examples these are long thin and run in one direction. Both have a light creamy patina. These objects date to the Late Mesolithic

15) 6 Cores average size length 34mm, width 31mm, thickness 16mm. Multiple flaking scars that are taken from a number of directions and cover the whole artefact. All have a light creamy patina with orange speckles. These date to the Neolithic.

16) 66 fragments of debitage. (not photographed) 24 Secondary flakes. average size length 28mm width 22mm, thickness 9mm. Most have a light grey patina, two have a creamy patina, all have less then 50% cortex remaining. Date Prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process.

42 Tertiary flakes, average size length 32mm, width 16mm, thickness 7mm. Most have a creamy patina. Date prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process.
