Description
Lion Hunt of the Nuremberg Knight Wolfgang Holzschuher. The Nuremberg patrician fought against the Arabs in Por-tugal’s African colonies. For his services he was knighted by King Manuel I in 1503. He was then permitted to add a Saracen's head to his coat of arms. The painting shows him during a successful lion hunt.
