English: The residence of the Arnos family at 1634 Cambridge Road was one of the first six houses to be completed in Upper Arlington. The residence was featured in the December 1917 issue of "The Norwester." Edward M. Arnos, the original owner, was born in Defiance, Ohio in 1885. After graduating from Clarke University in Worcester, Massachusetts, he became an assistant professor of economics at Olivet College. He later left teaching to join the Equitable Life Insurance Company of New York as an agency manager in Lansing, Michigan. Mr. Arnos moved to Columbus, Ohio in December 1916, where he continued to work in the insurance field. When the Norwester magazine profiled their family in 1917, Mr. Arnos and his wife, Cora (Hoffman) Arnos of Bryan, Ohio, had three children, Cornelia Dora, Edward Carroll, and Roland Ellsworth, and they kept a pet pony at their home. The house at 1634 Cambridge Boulevard was subsequently occupied by C. C. Miller and his family. Mr. Miller was manager of the Mining Service Department at the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company.
