Description
English: Lithic piercer length 38mm, width 18mm, thickness 5mm. One arise on the dorsal with 10% cortex remaining, small bulb of percussion on the ventral suggesting I was soft hammered. Short, low angled, bi-facial retouch on the left side. Short, sub-parallel, direct retouch on the last half of the right which have formed a point at the distal end. Dark grey flint with, darker and lighter patches. Similar artefacts have been found in excavations at sites such as Star Carr and have been dated to the Mesolithic Period (Butler, 2005, 112-113) Butler, C, 2005, Prehistoric Flintwork, Tempus.
