Summary
[edit]Description160m flag pole - Flickr - Nagyman.jpg |
So this is the story: South Korea and North Korea each had flag poles. South Korea built a larger one 100 m tall. North Korea responded with this massive pole 160 m tall and a 31 m flag weighing 600 lbs dry! It's the largest flag in the world according to the tour guide. Compare what you can see of the flag with the 3 story buildings on the ground...it is massive! The surrounding village is known as propaganda village because it broadcasts messages stating that Kim Jung Il is the best leader in the world, etc. The 'village' is not really a village at all. The buildings are empty shells and the windows do not even have glass. Caretakers turn on and off lights to make it seem like people are there. I found a better picture by macaddict on the Korean Images group. |
