Description
English: 38 Lithic implements

1) Awl length 26mm, width 19mm, thickness 8mm. One arise on both the dorsal and ventral side. retouch on either side of the forward edge that is abrupt direct and concave which forms a pointed end with a blunt tip. This retouch has removed the light grey patina exposing dark grey flint, 10% cortex on the butt. Date Bronze Age

2) Truncated piece length 20mm, width 21mm, thickness 5mm. One arise on the dorsal, bulb of percussion on the ventral short direct retouch on the left side. On the proximal end remains this is an old break. Dark grey colour with lighter grey patches. This artefact probably dates to the Neolithic.

3) Probably a truncated microlith length 8mm, width 10mm, thickness 2mm. One arise on the dorsal, no bulb of percussion on the ventral. Only the medial section remains. Light grey patina with creamy patches, dark grey flint exposed in the breaks. This artefact probably dates to the Mesolithic.

4) Irregular conical core length 29mm, width 30mm, thickness 26mm. Multiple irregular flaking scars over the whole of the surface, frost damage over some of the surface. Creamy patina with orange speckles throughout. Date Neolithic-Bronze Age.

5) Truncated blade length 15mm, width 11mm, thickness 2mm. One arise on the dorsal the bulb is missing from the ventral, only the distal end remains, short direct retouch on the left side. This artefact is heavily water worn. Light grey/creamy patina. Light grey-drown flint. This artefact dates to the Late Mesolithic.

6) Side and end scraper length 20mm, width 24mm, thickness 6mm. Large bulb of percussion on the ventral multiple flaking scars on the dorsal. Abrupt, direct retouch on the forward and left side the has created a curved working edge. Light bluish patina with lighter speckles, 10% cortex on the butt. This artefact dates to the Late Neolithic.

7) Scraper length 19mm, width 23mm, thickness 6mm. No bulb on the ventral, the forward edge has rough, direct, semi-abrupt, large flaking scars. This is a poor quality flint/chert. Light creamy speckled patina. Date Bronze Age.

8) Truncated piece length 25mm, width 26mm, thickness 8mm. Multiple flaking scars on both the dorsal and ventral sides. Only the proximal end remains most of the breakage appears to be from frost damage. Similar terminals and flake removals are seen on Late Mesolithic adze terminals, although the possibility of this being a Neolithic tool should not be ruled out.

9) 30 fragments of debitage (not photographed) 3 Primary flake, average size length 28mm width 22mm, thickness 9mm. Dark grey coloured flints, this has more than 50% cortex remaining. Date prehistoric. This is a waste flakes from the manufacturing process. 11 Secondary flakes, average size length 35mm width 15mm, thickness 8mm. Most have a dark grey colour, one is mid brown, all have less then 50% cortex remaining. Date Prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process.

16 Tertiary flakes, average size length 17mm, width 26mm, thickness 4mm. Most have a light grey colour with a light patina. Date prehistoric. These are waste flakes from the manufacturing process.
