Description Marine Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, hosted his counterpart Israel Defense Forces Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot, in Washington D.C. on Aug. 4th, 2016. General Dunford emphasized the closeness of the U.S.-IDF relationship, highlighting the trust and bond between the two militaries. The majority of the discussion focused on regional security issues and ways the U.S. and IDF can expand and enhance the military-to-military relationship to ensure regional stability.
