English: Founded in Victoria in 15 November 1860, The Royal Australian Engineers were formed by Peter Scratchley and were known as the Corps of Engineers. By 1876, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania and Western Australia had also established their own engineer units. These were united on 1 July 1902 under the title of The Corps of Engineers. This photograph takes place in Moore Park,Sydney. Sources: |
