Description 160223-ZZ999- ATHENS, Greece (Feb. 23, 2016) Vice Adm. James Foggo, III, Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, left, and Vice Adm. Georgios Giakoumakis, Chief Hellenic Navy General Staff, exchange gifts at the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense Feb. 23, 2016. Foggo was in Athens for the signing of an agreement for the construction and operation of a new deep-water degaussing facility which will aid vessels from the U.S., Greece, NATO, and other countries in maintaining operational readiness. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
