Title |
15th C. thimble |
||
Description |
English: Cast copper-alloy thimble of probable 15th C. AD date and continental origin. The object has become squashed, probably after deposition. It measures 23mm high by 17.2mm wide and weighs 10.62g. The design is simple, being cast in one piece and tapering slightly to a domed top (now damaged). At the bottom of the outer face is an indented rim and, above this, a series of rows of closely-spaced circular indentations. The object has a dark green patina. |
