Description
Deutsch: Das heutige Mönchengladbach auf einer Detailkarte aus dem Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. Kleiner Hinweis: Die Himmelsrichtungen sind verschoben. Linksunten ist ungefähr Norden. Zu den Namen. Glabbeeck (Gladbach), Dalem (Rheindahlen), Wickaik (Wickrath), Berg (Wickrathberg), Wanloo (Wanlo), Odekirche (Odenkirchen), Guldenraid (Güdderath), Gijsenkirche (Giesenkirchen), Mijlfort (Mülfort), Horst (Haus Horst), Raid (Rheydt), Zoppelbroick (Zoppenbroich), Niewerck (Neuwerk), Opterhard (Hardt). Alle Gebiete westlich der Niers sowie Wickrathberg und Wanlo gehörte damals zum Herzogtum Jülich. Giesenkirchen ist in der Karte auf der falschen Seite der Niers eingezeichnet. Die Gebiete im heutigen Giesenkirchen, Schelsen und Odenkirchen zum Kurfürstentum Köln.
