[edit]Description156 365 no-gi grappling (4672861418).jpg |
Part of E's black belt test was no-gi grappling. Normally when we grapple, we wear those traditional Japanese martial arts uniforms known as a "gi". But a well-rounded martial artist must be able to fight with or without being able to use the gi. In a gi match, you can grab your opponent's (or your gi) to help you in your attacks. In a no-gi match, you can't grab the clothing. (shot at USA Jiu-Jitsu National Training Center, Springfield, VA. www.usajj.com) |
