PAULS, TELFORD ON January 11, 1906 the Lutherans living in theBoroughs of Telford and West Telford, helda meeting for the purpose of organizing a Lutherancongregation. This meeting was represented by sixteenheads of families. After due deliberation, it wasunanimously resolved to organize a Lutheran con-gregation to be known as St. Pauls Ev. Lutherancongregation of the W>st Telford Borough. Theconstitution recommended by the General Councilfor Lutheran congregations was adopted, and six dea-cons were elected. At this meeting, it was also re-solved to apply to the courts of Montgomery County,for a charter. This application was signed by allpresent, viz., sixteen heads of families. NORRISTOWN CONFERENCE 245 offered the building and ground at public sale. Mr. B.F. Wolf, a member of St. Pauls, bought the buildingand ground, containing 100x200 feet. On November28, 1906, Mr. Wolf deeded the building and ground tothe corporation of St. Pauls Ev. Lutheran congrega-tion for a consideration of $1,033. April 19, 1906, thecongregation bought four acres of ground, west ofTelford, from Enos Holteman for the consideration of$900, for cemetery purposes. In 1907, March 16thit was unanimously decided by the congregation toerect a new and larger church building on the lotpreviously procured. The corner-stone of this newchurch building was laid on July 7, 1907, when thePastor C. R. Fetter was assisted by Revs. D, H. Reiter,J. H. Waidelich and J. L. Becker, D.D. On March 3,1908 with great rejoicing this small but energetic con-gregation consecrated their church building, Dr. G. F.Spieker of the Lutheran Seminary, Mt. Airy, preachingthe dedicatory sermon.
