Description
English: Master of pursed lips, Nuremberg, 1510: Martyrdom of St. Ursula; Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg. Ursula stands at the center, next to her Saint Cordula wearing a ramshorn headdress with coiled earpieces. Another traveler falls dying into the Rhine. With Ursula are also Pope Cyriacus and a bishop. On the side would have been executioners with bows and arrows.
Deutsch: Meister der geschürzten Lippen, Nürnberg, 1510: Martyrium der hl. Ursula; Germanisches Nationalmuseum Nürnberg. Im Zentrum steht die Prinzessin Ursula, neben ihr mit Hörnerhaube die hl. Cordula. Eine weitere Gefährtin stürzt soeben sterbend in den Rhein. Zur Gesellschaft Ursulas zählen ferner Papst Cyriakus und ein Bischof. Seitlich sind Henker mit Pfeil und Bogen zu ergänzen.
