Summary
[edit]Description1510 Alton 14 - Flickr - megabus13601.jpg | Alder Valley ECW coach-type Olympian is seen parked up between runs at Alton during the 2014 rally and running day. This ECW coach-type Olympian has been was in preservation from 2009 until 2015. 1510 B578LPE is a Leyland Olympian with coach-type ECW bodywork, these impressive 73 seaters brought a whole new level of comfort and much greater capacity to the services in and out of London. 1510 was new to Aldershot depot in January 1985 and was put straight to work on the X7 and X8 services into London. This vehicle was the tenth and final ECW coach-type Olympian for Alder Valley and along with four others joined the Alder Valley South fleet during the January 1986 split. Falling demand for the Londonlink service saw these coaches deemed surplus to requirements and in September 1991 it was sold to Filer's, Ilfracombe- the first of a handful of smaller operators to own this coach. |
