Description
English: 150925-M-NP954-001 - CMDCM (FMF/CAC) Beth A. Nilson, USN. Master Chief Nilson entered the U.S. Navy in 1995, attending recruit training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois followed by Machinist Mate “A” School in Orlando, Florida.

Master Chief Nilson was assigned to the Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity Norfolk, Virginia prior to her rating conversion to Hospital Corpsman. Upon completion of Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois, she completed Field Medical Service School in Camp Pendleton, California. Her other military education includes the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 62 in Fort Bliss, TX, and the CMC/COB Course.

Prior to her current assignment as Command Master Chief for 2d Marine Aircraft Wing, she completed tours with 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Field Medical Training Battalion and I Marine Expeditionary Force. Her OIF/OEF deployments include 2003 with MWSS 372 where she participated in the Iraq invasion, 2004-2005 with HMLA-367 and HMM-268 where she served a squadron and CASEVAC Corpsman, and 2010-2011 with I MHG where she served as the Navy SEL and managed the Wounded Warrior Transition Unit. After her selection to the Command Senior Chief program, she reported to the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, RI.

Master Chief Nilson is Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist and Master Training Specialist qualified. She holds an Associate of Science and Math degree from Coastline Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Excelsior College. Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with gold star, Air Medal with three strike/flights, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal with four gold stars, Combat Action Ribbon, Combat Aircrew Insignia with three stars, and various other campaign and unit awards.
