Summary

[edit]
Description Oregon Governor Kate Brown returns a framed guidon flag representing the 234th Engineer Company, to the unit commander, Oregon Army National Guard Maj. Andrew Vidourek (right), during a demobilization ceremony in Salem, Oregon, May 30. The act of returning the guidon to the unit symbolizes the welcome home of the Soldiers following their deployment to Kuwait. The 234th Engineer Company returned the Oregon state flag given to them when the unit originally mobilized. The state flag was flown in Kuwait while the framed guidon was displayed in the governor's office, serving as a reminder of Oregonians deployed overseas.
