14th Century coin weight
Description
English: 14th century lead coin weight for weighing the Noble coin. Square in plan, rectangular in section it measures 13.2mm wide by 13.28mm long. It has a design on one face only of a stylised ship with no sail, simple rigging and sails below. It weighs 6.66g or the equivalent of 102 grains. It would have originally weighed between 109 and 126 grains. See Withers, page 8 numbers 45-48.
