Description144 150-0 in München (1970).jpg | Class E 44 (later 144) was the mass-produced electric locomotives in Germany. It was also the first electric locomotives without coupled wheels or leading / trailing non-powered axles. They were introduced in 1932, and 187 were built, with the last produced in 1955. The last example was retired in 1991. This photo was taken in the Munich Hauptbahnhof yard. "Silberling" coaches with stainless steel siding are in the background. | ||
