English: Oregon Air National Guard Col. Paul Fitzgerald, 142nd Fighter Wing commander, is presented with a plaque from Boeing to commemorate 20,000 accident-free hours at the 142nd Fighter Wing, June 9, 2015, Portland Air National Guard Base, Ore. Fitzgerald passed his congratulation and gratitude stating, “Each member of this wing contributed to this milestone. Our personnel and finance experts provided the best in customer service so that our aircraft mechanics can focus on the mission. The stakes are high - for example, our aircraft engines have thousands of parts expertly assembled by the engine shop. Our weapons loaders routinely handle live munitions for our alert mission. Our pilots are able to push the envelope of combat training while always maintaining a focus on flying safety. This is the culmination of millions of small individual decisions across the wing that resulted in safely executing our mission one hour at a time. The plaque says it all: "Aviation Excellence."
