(June 17, 2014) Scholars facilitate the “Future Challenges” panel discussion for U.S. Naval War College (NWC) students and distinguished guests during the 65th annual Current Strategy Forum (CSF) at NWC in Newport, Rhode Island. As NWC’s capstone academic event, the two-day forum brings together distinguished guests and students to explore issues of strategic national importance. This year's theme, "American Grand Strategy and Sea Power: Challenges and Choices," focused on challenging assumptions and undertaking a strategic assessment of the future. “Future Challenges” panel members included: Moderator, Thomas Mahnken, NWC professor and Jerome E. Levy chair of economic geography and national security; Paul Bracken, professor of management and political science at Yale University; Andrea Dew, NWC associate professor of strategy and policy and co-director of NWC’s Center on Irregular Warfare and Armed Services Groups; and Emily Goldman, member of U.S. Cyber Command’s Combined Action Group.
