| Description |
In 2013 private regional operator in the Napoli area Ente Autonomo Volturno (EAV) was formed by the merging of all remaining operators. Seen here is 2-car EMU ETR243.105 at Santa Maria a Vico on 14 October 2017 working train R3408, 12:20 Napoli Centrale to Benevento. I alighted here having travelled just two stops from the junction station of Cancello to complete a section of missing line which was closed for engineering work during my previous visit to the area. The line is the former Ferrovia Benevento Napoli (FBN) which was later merged with Ferrovia Alifana to form Ferrovia Alifana e Benevento Napoli (FABN). FABN later changed names to MetroCampania NordEst (MCNE) before the merge to form EAV. |
