13th-century personal seal matrix - reverse
Description
English: Lead seal matrix, flat and pointed-oval in shape, of probable 13th-century date. As part of the matrix is missing and the surviving part is now in two pieces, the inscription is only partially legible. It reads: SIG....ELIET....W.........OR +

The inscription surrounds a fleur-de-lis type design. The reverse has a worn vertical rib and remnants of a lug at the top. The seal matrix measures 33.2mm long by 24.8mm wide and 2.6mm thick. It weighs 11.69g.
